Class of 2008, Bachelor's

Breanna M. Cardwell is a communications officer at TCWF. In this capacity, she works with the manager of digital content on the preparation and strategic dissemination of information presented on CalWellness.org, e-alerts, YouTube, Twitter and related digital platforms.

She joined the Foundation in January 2009 as executive assistant to the vice president of communications and was appointed communications associate in December 2010. Prior to joining TCWF, Cardwell was a communications coordinator at City Scholars Foundation where she assisted with donor relations and event coordination. As a student at the University of Southern California (USC), she helped recruit other students — including those from low-income families living in the surrounding area — through her work as a campaign manager for Teach for America, as an ambassador for the Annenberg School for Communications, and as a board member of the USC Chicanos for Progressive Education.

Cardwell earned her master’s degree in public policy and administration (MPPA) from California Lutheran University (CLU). She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from USC where she graduated magna cum laude and minored in both communications and cinema-television. She is a board member of the Hispanic Public Relations Association, Los Angeles chapter, and a member of the CLU MPPA Advisory Board, the California Chicano News Media Association, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Communications Network.
