5:00 p.m.: Final score UCLA-55, USC-40. The Trojans scored just 19 points in the second half.
4:57 p.m.: One minute remaining in play. With a mix of shots not falling and slow defense, USC is down by 15.
4:55 p.m.: Allen now with four personal fouls. USC seems to start to fade in energy with some sloppy defense.
4:50 p.m.: The Bruins stretch the lead to 52-39 with 3:14 left in the game. USC has scored just 18 points this half.
4:45 p.m.: Smith returns to the game with a power dunk giving the Bruins a 48-33 point lead with 7:11 remaining.
4:40 p.m.: This could be the last year that USC and UCLA face off in a PAC-12 Tournament so close to home. There have been reports that next year's tournament is set to move to the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
4:35 p.m.: With the Wear twins in together, USC struggles underneath defensively. Height is definitely a missing component from this year's team without Curtis Washington and Dewayne Dedmon in the mix.
4:31 p.m.: Blasczyk in foul trouble with four. He's replaced on the court with freshman Alexis Moore.
4:29 p.m.: USC has scored just 7 points in the past 9 minutes of play.
4:26 p.m.: UCLA coach Ben Howland fires back at the refs well into the timeout for the last foul called.
4:25 p.m.: Smith taken out after his third personal foul. That makes for six team fouls for UCLA. USC has two.
4:20 p.m.: At 6'10 and 305 lbs, UCLA center Joshua Smith is a powerhouse down low when he has the stamina to stay in the game. Smith fouled below for the 3-point play making the score 39-25 with 14:26 remaining in the game.
4:13 p.m.: Strangis continues to get beat up under the basket by Wear. No fouls called, but Strangis has ended up on the ground last three possessions.
4:10 p.m.: UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero booed by crowd while on screen for "Kiss-Cam."
4:10 p.m.: USC is quick to call a timeout after UCLA runs the score up to 29-23.
4:07 p.m.: And the second half has started here at Staples Center. USC's Greg Allen and UCLA's Travis Wear have back-to-back layups to start the half.
3:50 p.m.: The PAC-12 welcomes many former Olympians at today's tournament.
3:47 p.m.: Strangis' shot is blocked after strong inside defense by UCLA. UCLA is up 22-21 at half.
3:45 p.m.: The size of Travis Wear dominates down under. The Trojans continue to really struggle going head-to-head with the 6'10 forward.
3:42 p.m.: After starting out strong with 7 points early in the game, sophomore Garrett Jackson has been quiet the rest of the first half.
3:40 p.m.: USC coach Kevin O'Neil fired up about foul called on James Blasczyk. Calls time out after UCLA makes two freethrows giving the Trojans only a 1 point lead with 2:09 left in the first half.
3:35 p.m.: USC guard Byron Wesley's recent hot streak continues today. The freshman is on his game with a strong 9 points so far.
3:27 p.m.: Despite being just a ten-minute drive from campus, there are hardly any USC students at today's game.
3:25 p.m.: USC's Garrett Jackson breaks the scoreless streak with a three. USC is up 15-9 with 7:30 remaining in the first half.
3:20 p.m.: Both teams slow on scoring and just can't seem to get the shots to fall. The most energy in this place is coming from the UCLA cheerleaders.
3:15 p.m.: USC seems to be struggling with size inside the paint on offense but could make up for it in freethrows down the line
3:12 p.m.: Crowd is UCLA heavy with lots of "Let's Go Bruins!" cheers this afternoon at the Staples Center. USC fans scattered throughout.
3:08 p.m.: UCLA Forward Travis Wear tips it in making the score leaving UCLA up 6-5 after 5 minutes of play.
3:05 p.m.: UCLA wins the tip off. First score of the game with a freethrow at 17:12.
