Gas Prices Continue to Drop

The average retail price of regular gasoline fell 1.7 cents to $4.46 per gallon for the 13th consecutive day in Los Angeles County, according to figures released Monday from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price in gasoline has dropped 23.6 cents over the past 13 days.

In the previous week, the average price rose 50.4 cents, reaching a record high of $4.70 per gallon.

In Orange County, the average price decreased 1.3 cents to $4.443. Over the past two weeks, prices have decreased by 24.7 cents.

Prior to this, the average price rose 51.3 cents to a high of $4.69. The Orange County average price is 57.9 cents more than it was one year ago.

The drop in pump prices is the result of significant decreases to the wholesale gasoline price, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
