Christopher Dorner's First Victims Laid to Rest

Former DPS officer Keith Lawrence and his fiancee Monica Quan were remembered by thousands at Concordia University.

Thousands gathered Sunday in Irvine for the funerals of Keith Lawrence and Monica Quan, the first victims of an ex-police officer’s killing spree earlier this month.

Lawrence, 27, and Quan, 28, were shot and killed in a parked car on the roof of their condominium in Irvine on Feb. 3.

Police later determined that the man responsible was Christopher Dorner, who killed the couple to seek revenge against members of law enforcement he felt had wronged him.

The newly engaged couple was believed to be targeted because of Dorner’s past relationship with Quan’s father, retired LAPD Capt. Ronald Quan.

Lawrence worked as a public safety officer for the USC Department of Public Safety and Quan as an assistant basketball coach for Cal State Fullerton University.

The couple met six years ago while attending Concordia University where they both played basketball. Their joint funeral was held at the school’s campus.

“During his brief tenure of service here at USC, Officer Lawrence proved to be an honorable, compassionate and professional member of our department and the Trojan Family,” read a statement posted online by the department.

“We are a better department and the USC Campus Community is a safer place as a result of his service. May both Keith and Monica rest in peace. They will be missed.”

The Quan and Lawrence families have established the Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence Girls Basketball Scholarship Fund. For more information, visit www.leaap.org or email .

Requiescat in pace to the victims...but Bronte Lawson you need to do your job and put pressure on the LAPD to repay the couple (who's alive) with the bounty and furthermore it is your job to put pressure to the superior Law Enforcement and civilians to re-investigate Dorner's claims and cases so that this whole ordeal doesn't disappear in vain. Don't let the dead Americans (including Dorner himself) and the ones alive down by shying away from your duties as an American citizen first and secondly as an American Reporter. Fight against this evil status quo that's leaving this country with nothing but victims.
