Meet the Signees: Quinton Powell

Linebacker. Mainland High School. Daytona Beach, FL

Quinton Powell, an outside linebacker from Daytona Beach, Florida, was initially rumored to be a strong Florida lean until the Gators recently pulled their offer, ultimately leaving him with USC as his top choice. Powell is ranked as the No. 15 linebacker in the country according to Rivals.com. The four-star prospect went to the same high school as Trojan Freshman all-American defensive tackle Leonard Williams.

Powell was invited to play in multiple All-Star games including the Under Armour All-American Bowl Game and the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. Powell was also invited to participate in The Opening, arguably the nation's most prestigious football camp and showcase during the summer of 2012.

Powell is another example of the Trojans stellar recent track record in the state of Florida. USC nabbed Williams and wide receiver Nelson Agholor there last year. Powell is another big get for the Trojans from the Sunshine State.
