On Thursday Feb. 21, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision.
Officers say the car that caused the crash was involved in a shooting right before the collision.
That shooting occurred in a nearby hotel parking lot, where Harris, driving a Black Range Rover, fired multiple rounds into a Maserati, authorities say.
The Maserati was driven by 27-year-old Kenneth Cherry Jr., an up-and-comming rapper.
Both cars left the parking lot heading northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard. The Maserati entered the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road and crashed into five vehicles, including a taxi cab that immediately caught on fire.
The driver and passenger in the taxi cab died at the scene.
Cherry and a passenger in the Maserati were transported to the hospital.According to police, Cherry was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Three other people involved in the crash had minor to moderate injuries.
Police say Harris’ Range Rover was discovered the following Saturday.
