USC Head Football Coach Lane Kiffin Fired

Lane Kiffin was dismissed following the Trojans' blowout loss to Arizona State.

UPDATE [11:18 A.M.] USC Athletic Director Pat Haden will host a press conference at 1:00 P.M. at the John McKay Center.

UPDATE [8:50 A.M.] ESPN's Joe Shad now reporting that USC coach Ed Orgeron will take over as interim head coach for the Trojans. 

USC head football coach Lane Kiffin has been fired just a few hours following the Trojans 62-41 loss to Arizona State according to athletic director Pat Haden.

Haden broke the news to Kiffin after the team touched down in Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

The Trojans have lost 7 of the past 11 games and fell to 0-2 in the Pac-12 conference on Saturday with their blowout loss to the Sun Devils. Kiffin's overall record at USC is 28-15. 

Haden will hold a press conference Sunday afternoon. Time and place are still to be determined. 

COMMENTS

We don't want anyone to lose their jobs - but Mr. Kiffin just didn't seem to be Trojan triumph trained enough - he just wasn't all about the team.... Pay Pete C. double what Kiffin was getting to return!!!! Hurry!
