TSA Prescreening Airport Passengers

TSA is searching passengers' personal records before they even arrive at the airport.

The Transportation Security Administration is accessing government and private databases to prescreen airport travelers, according to recently released TSA documents.

Past travel itineraries, car registrations, employment information, property records, tax identification numbers and physical characteristics are among the types of information contained in these databases.

Travelers have mixed feelings on the new procedures and how they will affect their privacy.

TSA has not released details on the prescreening procedures.
