WeHo's Halloween Carnaval to Crown Queen Latifah

The theme for the annual Halloween festival is Noir Nights.

October 31st marks the event that costume enthusiasts in Los Angeles wait for all year long: the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval.

The carnaval attracts thousands of Angelenos to WeHo to show off their most creative get ups. Ranging from cat woman to giant dragons to Instagram (yes, somebody dressed up as the social media platform last year), the Halloween parade is known to showcase the most outrageous Halloween costumes in town.

And it wouldn’t be a Halloween carnaval without a theme. This year, the theme is Noir Night. Highlighting the classic era of the West Hollywood boom in the 1950’s, the theme hearkens back to the great noir films, recreating the glamorous, macabre era.

Carnaval goers can expect 50 entertainers performing on six stages along Santa Monica Boulevard. Two of the evening’s highlights are a showcase of the most sensational costumes and the crowning of the Carnaval's honorary queen, the actress and musician Queen Latifah.

The Carnaval will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard. Admission is free, and public parking is available at lots throughout West Hollywood.

For more information, call the City of West Hollywood’s Halloween Hotline at (323) 848-6503.
