USC Men's Water Polo Completes Six-Peat

USC wins its sixth consecutive NCAA men's water polo title after defeating Pacific 12-11 in double overtime.

USC's win didn't come easy as they had to defeat Pacific in double overtime. Fortunately for the Trojans, in the second overtime senior Nikola Vavic hit his fourth goal of the day which sealed the Trojans 12-11 victory.

The Trojans are the first collegiate water polo team to win six consecutive titles. USC finished the regular season with a 28-4 overall record and 5-3 in the conference.

This was the Trojans ninth straight trip to the NCAA championship and were ranked as the number one seed. Pacific was the number two seed and were looking for their first NCAA title since 1993.  

USC found themselves playing in Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center, which is the site of their 2008 championship that started their amazing run. Vavic hit the game winner and finished the game with four goals.

Vavic finishes his USC career with 254 career goals and is the Trojans' all-time scoring leader. 

Goalie James Clark ended his USC career as a NCAA champion and a career-high 17 saves. Senior Connor Virje secured his fourth NCAA championship in four seasons at USC. 

With the win, head coach Jovan Vavic brings home his 13th national championship. He has led the men's water polo team to nine titles and the women's water polo team to four. Vavic becomes the winningest coach in USC history passing track and field coach Dean Cromwell's 12 national championships.
