USC Releases 2014 Football Schedule
USC head coach Steve Sarkisian will open up the 2014 season at home versus Fresno State on August 30. It will be a rematch for the Trojans as they faced the Bulldogs in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl on December 21, 2013.
Sarkisian will begin his first season as USC's head coach without some key pieces.
Five players have already decided to declare for the 2014 NFL Draft. USC tight end Xavier Grimble was the latest Trojan to declare, and will join teammates Marqise Lee, George Uko, Dion Bailey and Marcus Martin in the draft.
Fortunately, USC linebacker Hayes Pullard, tight end Randall Telfer and cornerback Josh Shaw will return for one more year. Pullard and Shaw are part of USC's fierce defense that ranked fourth in interceptions and fifth in sacks in the Pac-12.
The Trojans finished the 2013 season 10-4 and ranked 19 in the AP Top 25 and USA Today's Coaches Poll. Despite four coaching changes the Trojans finished the season defeating the Fresno State Bulldogs 45-20 in the Las Vegas Bowl.
USC will have six home games during the 2014 season, which features a showdown against Notre Dame and the defending Pac-12 South Division Champion Arizona State.
USC will host Colorado on Oct. 18 during Homecoming/Reunion Weekend. Trojan Family Weekend will feature a match-up versus California on Nov. 13.
The Trojans 12-game schedule features nine teams that played in a bowl game this past season. The Trojans will also hold their second non-Thanksgiving or non-bowl Thursday game at the Los Angeles Coliseum on November 13.
USC's last away game of the regular season will be played at the Rose Bowl versus cross-town rival UCLA.
