Eastside Residents Demand Federal Resources

Community leaders claim their neighborhoods are ignored by L.A. City Council's recent decision.

Boyle Heights, El Sereno and Lincoln Heights are some of the neighborhoods not selected by the Los Angeles City Council to receive new federal resources for issues like housing, education and safety.

Local residents gathered Tuesday in Boyle Heights to question the decision and urged the council not to ignore the Eastside.

Low graduation rates, high unemployment and a lack of educational resources are problems affecting East Los Angeles, according to community leaders.
