USC Baseball Looks to Extend Six-Game Winning Streak vs. UCLA
The USC baseball team is on a hot streak heading into its rivalry series against UCLA. The Trojans have won six straight games after beating Hawai'i 10-4 on Tuesday night at Dedeaux Field. They now sit an even .500 in Pac-12 play (9-9) and are 20-17 overall.
UCLA is 9-6 in conference games this season and 21-16 overall, coming off the Bruins' National Championship season a year ago. UCLA pitchers are 3rd in the Pac-12 with a 2.91 earned run average.
"They have really good pitching, and everyone in the country knows that," said Kevin Swick, USC's third baseman and leadoff hitter. "We've got to execute our game plan: hitting the ball low and hard."
The Trojans and Bruins play a three-game series, starting Thursday at 6 p.m. at UCLA's Jackie Robinson Stadium. Fans can watch Game 1 and Game 2 (Friday, 7 p.m.) on Pac-12 Networks. The series finale will be Saturday at 2 p.m.
