Hawkins: "The Starting Role is Something that I've Wanted"

After sitting out his first year as a member of the USC football team, redshirt freshman Chris Hawkins discusses his excitment about capturing a starting position in the Trojan secondary. Hawkins, a cornerback out of Rancho Cucamonga, California, also talks about his relationship with fellow defensive back Kevon Seymore and the preparation they go through together before facing off against previously seen receivers.

Hawkins and the rest of the Trojan team will take a week off from game action before taking on Oregon State at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum Saturday Sept. 27. Kickoff against the Beavers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
