No. 1 Women of Troy Hoist Championship Cup
The No. 1 USC women's golf team proved victorious at the Liz Murphey Invitational for the second year in a row, beating out the University of Georgia in a final round tiebreaker in Athens, Georgia Sunday. Over the weekend, the Women of Troy took down their crosstown rival UCLA Bruins before knocking off the Duke Blue Devils Saturday. USC won the Invitational over Georgia in the tiebreaker by leading 8-5 in matches won.
Freshman Amy Lee and junior Kyung Kim led the Women of Troy by capturing outright victories in their final rounds before junior Annie Park rallied on the back-nine to split her point. The win was USC's second-straight and fourth of the year. The Women of Troy will be back in competition at the PING ASU Invitational April 10-12 in Tempe, Arizona.
