Bryce Jones to Transfer from Men’s Basketball Team

TAGS:

Freshman guard Bryce Jones announced today that he will transfer to another program.

Jones, a local product out of Taft High School in Woodland Hills, averaged 7.6 points per game in 18 games for the Trojans. Jones began the year as a starter, but has been largely absent from the rotation since Jio Fontan became eligible in December.

“My family and I felt it was in my best interest to transfer, so I informed Coach O’Neill of this yesterday,” Jones said. “Although my time at USC didn’t go exactly how I had hoped in terms of playing time, I appreciate the experience I was offered and wish my teammates nothing but the best in the future.”

“We appreciate his contributions to our program, and we wish Bryce and his family all the best,” said head coach Kevin O’Neill. “He’s a talented player with a promising future.”

Jones finishes his USC career with an average of 20.6 minutes per game. Jones’ decision means that the freshman class now consists of Maurice Jones, Garrett Jackson, and Curtis Washington, who has played just seven total minutes this season.
