Let's Go Live!
I am so proud of Team Monday for working hard and truly collaborating. After the show airs, the producers, anchors and crew gather in the studio to congratulate each other on what went right and to share a good laugh about what went wrong. After producing for 11 hours straight, it's this camaraderie that keeps me smiling.

Though we have done well so far, it is time to take on our next challenge. Let's go live! I definitely think our team has what it takes to produce our first live in-studio interview or live shot from inside the Media Center. I understand that booking a live guest is not easy, but I believe we have the passion to fight to make it happen. We have such an incredible opportunity to use our show as a platform to raise awareness about issues that matter and to produce content that keeps viewers wanting more. Let's realize these goals through live coverage.

I love how eager we are to put anchors and reporters in front of the monitor, but our show would have so much more depth and variety if reporters also introduced their packages in the Media Center. We have a beautiful new building. Why not utilize that great background with captivating, live shots? For example, Drennon Kimpton did a great job this week reporting about the man who was arrested for the Halloween hit and run that killed three girls. Her news story was packed with informative details. That could have been a fantastic opportunity to have her share some of that information on camera in a live introduction. Next time reporters come back in the newsroom and tell us about the sound and video they captured, I want to stop and think for a minute about if their piece could lend itself to a live introduction.
Of course, we cannot go live just for the sake of going live. We need a true purpose! I look forward to producing a live segment next week that is relevant and helps viewers digest critical information. If we produce a story that is developing while our show is on the air, we would have the perfect opportunity to provide the latest information live to our viewers. I know we have what it takes, Team Monday. Let's go for it!
