Goals Moving Forward
Although this semester is flying by at a scary rate, I think back to our first week of class and feel as if I have grown and learned so much as a producer. From the high points to the low points, my experience as a producer has been quite eventful to say the least. I love my producing team and sincerely appreciate all the hard work done by Thursday's MJ's. Without all of them, the show would not be possible.
That being said, I still have a long way to go in order to be a better producer for Thursday's team. Now that we are about half way through the semester, I have two main goals in mind that I want to achieve.
First and foremost, I want to become more confident overall as a producer. No matter how prepared I feel going into a producer position, I always end up coming across a situation I didn't expect to happen. In other words, I am always learning something new. It is not until moments such as this, that I actually learn and really come to understand something. As a result, it is hard to always come across as a confident producer. Regardless of this truth, I do believe that in time this will begin to happen less and naturally I will feel better as a producer.
Second, I want to know each and every MJ's name that comes into the Media Center on Thursdays. It is a personal pet peeve of mine that I still do not know the names of the students who help produce the Thursday show. It may be my personal opinion, but in the real world I feel like not knowing people's names, whom you are in charge of, is simply unprofessional. In this case, I will take the necessary steps to achieve this goal. My plan of action to do just this is to make a list of all the MJ's who come in on Thursday and then memorize them.
