The Row repaved

The Row will be under construction for the next four weeks.

Roadwork on 28th Street began yesterday morning and will continue through the next four weeks.  During this time 28th Street - known as the Row - will be open to traffic but no parking will be permitted from 6:30am to 4:00pm.

Logan Lachman, a student senator in the Greek system, worked with the City of Los Angeles to initiate the construction, reported the Daily Trojan.

Some stuents feel road construction on The Row was long overdue.  The street is riddled with potholes and the city hopes that the construction will make it more aesthetically pleasing.  Greeks have been pushing for renovations for years, reports the Trojan.

However, the school would have preferred the construction start over summer, due to transportation issues, said DPS Captain Carlisle.

Depending on the speed of the construction, the City may begin work on the dilapidated sidewalks too.  Some Greeks believe that the sidewalk is even more pressing than the roads.

While most are excited about the Row’s makeover, some students are annoyed that the University didn’t provide better communication prior to the start of constructions.

The University didn’t send an informational e-mail until today, a day after construction began.
