USC hosts Walter Cronkite Awards
The Walter Cronkite Awards were held at the University of Southern California Tuesday.
The USC Annenberg School, the Norman Lear Center and Reliable Resources for Broadcast Political Coverage honored outstanding achievements in political coverage with the USC Annenberg Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.
According to USC Annenberg, the purpose of the award is to encourage and showcase television journalistic excellence in political coverage, particularly innovative, issue-focused coverage that informs viewers about their electoral choices.
The award recognizes television news coverage that helps audiences understand who the candidates are, what the issues are, and how the electoral choices will affect their lives.
A list of the 2011 award winners can be found on the Cronkite Award website.
