Santa Ana Winds Ignite Brushfires

Southern California figrefighters extinguished two brushfire that stem from gusty Santa Ana winds on Wednesday. But, before they arrived to the flames, several structures were damaged.

In the Glen Avon Area of Riverside County, one home was heavily damaged and two other structures had moderate damage after fire swept across a 2-acre field.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said one person suffered minor smoke inhalation.

In Orange County, five acres of hilly unincorporated territory near the city of Brea was burned by a brushfire.The fire department was able to contain the flames soon after.

Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Marc Stone says one structure was threatened by the flames, but there was no damaged. No injuries have been reported.
