What's in Echo Park Lake?

An assortment of items were found at the bottom of Echo Park Lake.

Back in September, Echo Park ventured forth on a huge endeavor of emptying 21 million gallons of water from Echo Park Lake.

The lake is undergoing a $65 million construction project that is expected to last until Spring 2013.

The city has released a list of some of the things found during the drainage.

The items included the following:

Boombox: 3

Park trash cans: 36

Shopping carts: 7

Pay telephone: 1

Skateboard: 6

Parking enforcement boot: 1

Toilet: 1

Glass Bottles: Hundreds

Model Boat: 2

Frisbee: 20

Weapons (guns): 2

Office Chair: 6

Miscellaneous toys, trash, debris: Hundreds

While not every single thing can be counted at the bottom of the lake, Echo Park has an official list that can be found through the contacting the Department of Public Works.
