Angels Flight Doubles Fare
Starting March 12, the historic Angels Flight Railway will double its prices from a quarter to 50 cents.
However, those with Metro passes will continue to be able to ride the World’s shortest railway for 25 cents for a one way trip.
The 298-foot railway was opened in 1901 initially to transport the residents of lofty Bunker Hill down to the base of the hill at the center of Downtown. Angels flight celebrated its 110th birthday this past December.
The price increase was approved by non-profit Angels Flight Railway Foundation to help cover maintenance costs, which were previously procured by fundraising and licensing revenue made from movies and trademarks.
The funicular railway is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day and can be found at the streets of Fourth and Hill.
