Dances with Frances: Dancing Trojans!

Relieve Stress and Earn Credits for Dancing

In the ever-stressful academic environment of USC, some students are finding a way to unwind through the Theater School's 2-unit dance courses. The courses are open to all students and cover a wide range of styles from tap to international style ballroom dance.

One USC student dancer says, "It's freeing almost. I forget about everything that's outside, and I just get to focus on myself and dance."

Some dancers with more experience take the courses for extra practice, but they encourage dancers of all skills levels to partake in these classes. Generally, the classes are small, so beginning dancers will feel more comfortable.

"Because there are so few people, I feel like I can really open up, dance how I want to dance, and not worry about what other people are thinking" another USC student taking these courses has said.

Whether experienced or not, these classes offer a break from the challenging academics here at USC and give Trojans a chance to Dance On.
