LAX Unveils $238-Million Renovation
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will speak Tuesday morning at the unveiling of the recently renovated Alaska Airlines Terminal.

The $238-million dollar upgrade to Terminal 6 includes a high-tech passenger ticketing and back check kiosks, as well as new lounges and expanded boarding areas.
This remodel is part of Los Angeles World Airports' $4.1 billion improvement plan that centers around the expansion of the Tom Bradley International Terminal. LAWA's commitment to sustainability was recently recognized by the U.S Green Building Council after being awarded their Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Building (LEED-EB) certification which is the first for a renovation project for a U.S. airport.
Other planned improvements to LAX include new taxiways, a new air conditioning plant and renovations to other terminals.
