No Charges for Notre Dame Student
Prosecutors said Wednesday that they will not file charges against the Notre Dame High School student who was arrested for making shooting threats.
Police said the 16-year-old student told his friend that he was going to bring a gun to school and kill two students and a teacher.
Another student overheard the conversation and told a parent -- who reported the threat to the police, according to investigators.
The teen, whose name is not being released due to his age, was arrested last Friday afternoon for making terrorist threats.
Police issued a search warrant following his arrest. They said they found a working World War II-era M1 rifle that they believe the student was intending to use to carry out his threats. In the search, police also took a computer from the student's home.
The teen was released from jail on Tuesday after The Los Angeles County District Attorney cited insufficient evidence and rejected his case.
However, the LAPD said they have resubmitted the case and are waiting to see what happens.
Notre Dame High School is a private Catholic high school in Sherman Oaks. It has about 1,200 students.

Why has this serious story not made the national News?!? We have a right to be informed. They released him, yet police patrol Notre Dame High School Every 5 min! So obviously this is a community threat! I live across from the school.
I am disappointed in FOX NEWS & CNN for covering ALEXANDER SONG, but not this Sherman Oaks kid from a Catholic High School. Just barried under the rug.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
