Harvard's Veritas Forum Comes to USC
The Veritas Forum is coming to USC Wednesday night. The forum, founded in 1992 at Harvard University, is aimed at discussing a specific question from a Christian perspective.
The theme of Wednesday night is "What makes a story meaningful and why?"
The forum will host ER and Law and Order screenwriter Neal Baer and Mpower Film Productions President John Sheperd. They will discuss the meaning of storytelling to humankind.
"The Veritas Forum is going to be a momentous, engaging event. We will be viewing the works of two successful Hollywood producers,"said USC senior James Aluri, who originally helped to bring the organization to the campus. "We're incredibly excited to bring the Trojan community together on a discussion of what makes something meaningful, be it stories or human life in general."
The Veritas Forum is sponsored by various Christian organizations on campus including Alpha Gamma Omega, Fresh Faith, Campus Crusade for Christ, Christian Challenge, Inter Varsity and Calvary Chapel, among other groups on campus.
While the Veritas Forum is Christian-based, everyone from all religious backgrounds are welcomed at the event.
The Veritas Forum will take place at the Davidson Conference Center at 7 p.m.
