Metro Train, Car Crash Near Expo Park
One man was taken to the hospital Thursday after a Metro rail train and his car crashed near Exposition Park.
The man was making a left turn from Exposition Boulevard onto Watt Way, into the USC campus, when the train and the car collided at approximately 10:25 a.m., according to Metro spokesman Luis Inzunza.
The man was then transported to California Hospital.
The train had no passengers and no one else was injured. Inzunza said he could not comment on the man's injuries at this time and that investigations on the cause of the crash are underway.
He's cautioning people to pay attention while they keep testing the trains before the grand opening of the line in a week.
"Trains will be passing constantly in the next two weeks...We want people to be aware of the trains, and the signals, and make sure they turn when they are supposed to turn," said Inzunza. "Be careful, don't text when you drive. One small distraction and this is what is going to happen."
"When a train impacts with a car," said Inzunza, "the car always loses."

Clearly this car driver is an idiot. There are more than ample warning lights and signals. Not to mention common sense. He got what he deserved.
