USC Lands Prized Quarterback Recruit Max Browne

The high school junior is an ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect and chose USC over Oklahoma, Alabama, and Washington.

The starting quarterback situation for the 2013 season just got a bit more interesting for USC, now that the team has added one of the nation's top young prospects.

Max Browne, a 6-foot-5, 210 pound junior out of Skyline High School (Sammamish, Wash.) announced his decision to attend USC Wednesday at a press conference at his school.

"As a quarterback growing up on the West Coast, at least for me personally, there was always the dream of growing up and being the quarterback for the Trojans," Browne said Wednesday, according to the Seattle Times

The decision does not come as much of a shock. Browne just wrapped up a three-day unofficial visit to USC this past weekend. According to WeAreSC and ESPN.com, Browne wanted to make his decision early so he can focus on having a successful senior season. He also reportedly plans to graduate early so he can participate in spring football next year at USC.

Currently, USC's quarterback roster is complete with multiple promising back-ups, including redshirt freshmen Max Wittek and Cody Kessler. The pair have been taking the majority of the snaps so far this spring. Redshirt sophomore Jesse Scroggins is currently academically ineligible.
