Devoted 'Twi-hards' Prepare for Black Carpet Premiere
The stars of "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2" will watch a private screening of the new movie Monday night, while many of their fans continue to await the nationwide movie premiere Friday.
Though not all of the fans will be able to attend the 7 p.m. screening, they will be able to see Twilight stars on the black carpet. The actors are expected to arrive at 4:30 p.m.
Many fans have camped out for the "black carpet" premiere at the Nokia Theatre, with some arriving as early as last Thursday.
Campers have made themselves comfortable in the L.A. Live area by setting up tents decorated with posters of Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
Some fans have toted around scrapbooks and cardboard cutouts of the actors. Posters, t-shirts, and pins are being sold at the camping area. Some vendors are also selling a shimmer spray to give fans an Edward Cullen glow.
Devoted Twilight fan Stacey Buckley flew to Los Angeles from Bournemouth, England, to camp out with other Twi-hards she met on the internet.
"5,430 miles flown; 90 hours camped; all because we're Twi-hard Brits," Buckley said.
Some fans have made friends with their tent neighbors during the past three days over screenings of the Twilight saga.
"You bring stuff. You meet people," Twihard Wendi Reynolds from Philadelphia said. "It's the worlds biggest sleepover, and at our age, who gets to do that?"
On Saturday, a Twilight Fan Camp Concert was hosted by Time Warner Cable at the venue. Christina Perri, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald performed. On Sunday, the company also provided breakfast from Corner Bakery to campers. Twilight stars Peter Facinelli and Justin Rathborne also greeted fans and signed autographs at the event.
The film is set to hit theaters across the country Friday, November 16.
