Students Kick Off Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, an eleven-day string of events promoting homelessness solutions in Los Angeles, continued on campus Monday.
Students attended art exhibits, discussions, charity drives and other events throughout the week, all of which work to aid the city's growing homeless community.
According to the event's Facebook page, approximately 82,000 people are homeless on any given night in LA County.
Many student groups, including SC Homelessness Initiative, USC Graduate Student Government and USC Student Interfaith Council, came together to host the programming. They also partnered with charity and non-profit organizations from the greater LA community.
