USC Student Nominated For Latin Grammy

Suenmy Gonzales and her group, Trio Ellas, received a nomination for their ranchero album.

USC popular music student Suenmy Gonzales has been nominated for a Latin Grammy for her group's performance, Trio Ellas.

The all-female mariachi ensemble received the nomination for best ranchero album, "Con Ustedes...Trio Ellas." The album's creation also includes USC faculty member Andy Abad who produced the album and Matias Mora who created the artwork.

Trio Ellas performs traditional music with modern rock. The band also features Los Angeles natives Stephanie Amaro on guitar and Nelly Cortez on guitarron.

The Latin Grammy Awards will air on Univision on November 15th.
