2013 Commencement Speaker Announced

Jimmy Iovine, the Chairman of Universal Music Group's Interscope-Geffen-A&M Records unit, will be the 2013 commencement speaker, USC announced Monday.

Iovine has represented and worked with various musicians, such as John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen.
Recently, Interscope, the brand he co-founded in 1990, has promoted musicians like Dr.Dre, Nine Inch Nails and The Black Eyed Peas.
Iovine recently joined American Idol as a mentor to contestants on the tenth season.
The commencement will be held on Friday, May 17, in front of Doheny Library.
Since its first commencement in 1884, USC has held 129 commencements, making this year the 130th.
Each year, there are approximately 40,000 parents, family, and friends that attend the commencement ceremony.
