Lakers Owner Hospitalized with Cancer
Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Thursday to recieve treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.
Multiple team personnel accompanied the 79-year-old to the intensive care unit, the Los Angeles Times reported. Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar visited him while other players wished him well over the phone.
As owner, Buss has presided over ten NBA titles. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, according to Sports Illustrated.
Buss has owned the Lakers since 1979.
