Oberlin College Resumes Classes After KKK Reports
Classes opened Tuesday at Oberlin College after they cancelled classes Monday.
Officials chose to not hold classes after there was a reporting of a person wearing Ku Klux Klan gear near an African heritage building.
Oberlin calls the spot of the suspected KKK as the latest in a series of hate-related incidents on campus. Last month, there were repeated incidents of racist graffiti on campus walls.
Instead of classes Monday, Oberlin invited students and professors to participate in afternoon events focused on mutual respect.
Oberlin President, Marvin Krislov, and three college deans wrote an open letter to students that they hope the ordeal will lead to a stronger community.
