Steel Beams Emerge in New Annenberg Building

The new Wallis Annenberg Hall is expected to be completed for the Fall 2014 semester.

The steel frame of the new Wallis Annenberg Hall is emerging from behind a cardinal-colored fence as construction continues on the state-of-the-art communications facility.

The new home for the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism is slated to open for the Fall 2014 semester.

Construction of the building began in November 2012, when the university launched a $150 million fundraising campaign in order to furnish the facility with sophisticated equipment.

The building is named after Wallis Annenberg whose Annenberg Foundation donated $50 million to underwrite the construction.
