PETA Protests Against UniverSoul Circus

Activist Christina Cho attempted to pass out pamphlets to people waiting in line for the circus, which promoters described as a "highly interactive combination of circus arts, theater, and music ." Cho accused the circus of abusing the wild animals which perform.
"What amounts to two minutes of entertainment for those folks that are coming here equals a lifetime of misery," Cho said. "These animals are poked, prodded and chained and essentially spend 23 hours a day locked up in cages."
Universoul Circus has performances in Los Angeles through the 31st.
PETA has standing campaigns against circuses which feature animals, including Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey's.
"There are wonderful circuses out there. Cirque de Soleil," Cho said.
