The USC Galen Center will play host to the television show The X Factor on Wednesday March 6, leading the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) to go forward with the street closures.

LADOT officers will be posted at Exposition Blvd. and have been told to only allow people with business at USC or the nearby Radisson Hotel.

According to a memorandum sent to the USC Campus Community from USC Transportation, the following curb lanes and sidewalks will also be affected:

- Both the southbound curb lane and the sidewalk on the west side of Flower St. between Jefferson Blvd. and Exposition Blvd. will be closed.

- The eastbound curb lane on Jefferson Blvd. between Figueroa St. and Flower St. will be partially closed.

- The sidewalk on the east side of Figueroa St. between McCarthy Way and Jefferson Blvd. will be closed.

If you have any issues regarding the closures, you can call Rick McCormick at USC Transportation at (213) 743-1668

I find it TOTALLY RIDICULOUS that anyone would allow such incomprehensible deliberate back up of traffic in a MAJOR STREET

It is supremely arrogant and inconsiderate X-Factor scheduling with regard to the Gaylen Center's surrounding community. I refuse to believe presumably educated people would think it is okay to displace, re-route, and be the direct cause of commuters being late to their jobs for X-Factor auditions. VERY, VERY SELFISH USC. But then, we always knew that you were.
