Car Chase Near Campus

The driver of a reportedly stolen van led police on a high speed chase on Tuesday afternoon. 

The chase began at Slauson Avenue near the Harbor (110) Freeway in the South Los Angeles area.

The driver crashed into at least three vehicles, including one near Washington Boulevard and Hoover Street.

Despite the damage this caused to the van, the driver continued. He circled USC at one point during the chase, and eventually ended near Vermont and 43rd Street.

The suspect was taken into custody after fleeing from the van and attempting to escape on foot.
