The Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles and dozens of immigration reform activists rallied in front of Senator Dianne Feinstein's office Thursday.

The immigrant rights groups demanded Feinstein use more of her power to influence immigration reform and fight the high rate of deporations.

Antonio Bernabe said deportations hurt the community and the people who are left behind.

"More than one thousand people are being deported every single day," Bernabe said. "So that means thousands of families breaking apart, being divided. We've already got more than 5,000 orphans in California [due to deportations]."
