Police report that the victim, Kevin Orellano, was killed from a pocket-knife stab wound around 4 p.m. Wednesday at the school. According to reports, Orellano was playing handball when two suspects approached him. One punched him and the other stabbed him.

Three suspects have been booked for suspicion of murder.

Michael Carpio, a 19-year-old from Panorama City, and a 16-year-old boy were taken into custody Thursday morning.  Police also arrested 19-year-old Michelle Pineda, who is believed to have been driving the getaway car. Police found the suspected maroon colored minivan at the scene of the arrest.

According to police, the two male suspects are gang members, however Orellano has no known gang ties.

LAPD Cmdr. Sharon Papa told the LA Times that Orellano was an adult-education student at West Valley Occupational Center in Woodland Hills.
