USC Hosts Annual 'Vision and Voices' Luncheon

President C.L. Max Nikias will be honored for his sponsorship of the initiative.

The University of Southern California is hosting its annual luncheon benefiting "Visions and Voices of Philanthropy" in Beverly Hills. The event, hosted by USC Town and Gown, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton.

USC President C.L. Max Nikias, and his wife Niki Nikias, will be honored for the establishment of Visions and Voices. They luncheon will also award Marlo Thomas, an actress and USC alumna, with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Visions and Voices is a university-wide arts and humanities initiative at USC. President Nikias established Visions and Voices in 2006 while working in former USC President Steven Sample's administration.

The initiative aims to provide an inspiring and provocative experience for USC students. The program also highlights USC's excellence in the arts and humanities.

Recently, Visions and Voices sponsored USC's Genocide Awareness week. Organized by the USC Shoah Foundation, the event included a storytelling panel and an evening with a holocaust survivor.

The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Marlo Thomas graduated from USC with a teaching degree. She was a member of the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. Thomas was an accomplished Broadway performer and has also appeared on numerous sitcoms.
