Social Media Week Kicks Off In L.A.
Social Media Week kicked off Monday in Los Angeles and will continue until Friday.
The mission of this week is to "capture, curate and share the most meaningful ideas, trends, and best practices with regard to technology," according to its website.
The conference will also be looking at the impact of social media on business, society and culture.
With events spanning across five continents, L.A. is just one of the cities where techies can get together to talk social media.
Tyler Sweeney works at an ad agency and attended one of Monday's events.
He thinks the social media landscape will have its own process of natural selection with the most innovative companies left standing.
Some of Monday's events included "Hitting the Jackpot: How Community Crowdsourcing Is The Gift That Keeps on Giving," "Is There A Future For Responsible Journalism?," and "Master Class: YouTube Pros- How Talent, Networks, Tool Providers, and More are Making YouTube a Real Industry."
