NAACP Demands School Board Member's Resignation
The NAACP of Compton held a news conference Tuesday to demand that Compton school board member Skyy Fisher resign after he was arrested last week on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Last Saturday, Fisher issued a public apology saying, "As a public servant, I understand that I owe a full and accurate explanation of personal choices that I have made that have now become public. While I did not believe my driving behavior was reckless or otherwise improper Monday night, apparently law enforcement may have believed otherwise and pulled me over."
Fisher made news last year when he took a 60-day leave of absence after using a homophobic slur to refer to Trayvon Martin in a podcast.
