Teachers Wage Protest For Higher Pay

Teachers say "it's about time" they get an increase in their paychecks.

The United Teachers Los Angeles Union - in a bid for higher salaries - waged a protest Wednesday outside the LA Unified School District Headquarters.

Teachers named the rally "It's About Time" to express their desire for an overdue increase in pay.

The protest came after Proposition 30 increased state funding for the school district, but failed to raise teachers' salaries.

Teachers say they have been waiting seven years for bigger paychecks.

ATVN reached out to LAUSD but has not received a response.
