State Unveils New Earthquake Insurance Policy
A new multi-policy discount insurance package that includes an earthquake policy is available to the public.
The simulator showed what an earthquake would look like in a regular home.
The announcement was made by California Insurance Commissioner, Dave Jones, as part of a collaboration with the California Earthquake Authority and the Automobile Club of Southern California.
"The Big Shaker," the world's largest simulator, made an appearance at the event to demonstrate what an earthquake with a 7.0 magnitude looks like.
This new policy announcement comes about a month from the 20th anniversary of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake approaches on Jan. 14th.
