The arctic cold front that has swept over Southern California will continue into the weekend, with a low of 37 expected on Saturday for Los Angeles, according to The Weather Channel.

The Los Angeles County Health Department issued a cold weather alert for the Santa Clarita, San Fernando, and Antelope valleys. A frost advisory is in place for Los Angeles County until Friday morning.

Residents near Victorville can expect winds as high as 15 mph this weekend. Drivers should drive carefully as sandy winds could reduce visibility nears Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

A 70 percent chance of rain means Los Angeles County and surrounding areas can expect light rain on Saturday.

Riverside residents can expect a low of 29 degrees Saturday night.

In 1990, an arctic cold front produced record low temperatures of 29 degrees Fahrenheit for Redondo Beach, according to the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management.
