Immigrant Rights Advocates Petition Against Car Impounds

Advocates petition local cities for a moratorium on car impounds of undocumented immigrants.

Immigrant rights advocates kicked-off a weeklong campaign to help streamline the process for undocumented immigrants to receive drivers' licenses.

Advocates are petitioning local cities to impose a moratorium on impounds on the cars of undocumented immigrants driving without licenses.

Participants include Pomona Habla/Speaks Community Coalition and the California Statewide Coalition for a moratorium on impounds.

Last year, Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation that allowed undocumented immigrants living in California to apply for drivers' licenses if they met certain requirements.

ATVN reached out to the Office of Traffic Safety but did not receive a response.

COMMENTS

Not only the car needs to be impounded, but so does the lawbreaking illegal alien pest. Deport them as the law calls for and end this constant problem.
