No. 1 Women's Water Polo Suffers First Loss Of 2014
The No. 1 USC women's water polo team fell to No. 3 Stanford 9-5 on Sunday. With the loss, the Women of Troy fall to No. 3 in the MPSF standings with a record of 4-1.
Stanford and UCLA are tied for the No. 1 spot as both teams are undefeated in MPSF play.
In a rematch of the 2013 NCCA Championship game, the Cardinal went on a six-goal run to seal their victory. USC's Flora Bolonyai had 12 saves for USC, while Colleen O'Donnell scored two goals.
The Cardinal snap the Women of Troy's 20-game winning streak, and hand them their first loss of 2014. USC is now 20-1 on the season.
USC returns home where they will begin their four-game home stand before the start of the MPSF Championships. The Women of Troy will take on UC Irvine at home on April 6.
