TSA Calls for More Security following LAX Shooting
Millions of LAX travelers could see an increase in security.
The TSA released a report Wednesday calling for safety changes to airport security.
The report comes after a gunman opened fire in an LAX terminal last November killing 39-year-old TSA officer Gerardo Hernandez and wounding three others.
Hernandez was the first TSA officer killed in the line of duty. TSA officials hope that improved security measures will help protect all airport employees and passengers.
The proposed changes include more law enforcement officers at checkpoints and routinely testing equipment and technology.
The TSA also plans to enhance training by adding mandatory active shooter exercises, keeping employees informed and providing employee support.
